Just bought this from ebay & waiting for it to arrive for my boyfriend’s birthday. He mentioned he wanted one a while ago & I thought it’d be a nice surprise however, the reason I picked this one is that it ended soon & was “pretty”- I know nothing about harmonicas & was hoping to print off some kind of details on how he can learn to play it can anyone help me out with the kind of harmonica from the pictures included? Thanks a lot What I found out was – The link is gone, but the title says that it’s an “echo” harmonica. While the shape of it looks like a diatonic, the “echo” is a totally different kind of instrument. There are multiple reeds set in each hole, that are pitch-offset to give a “tremelo” sort of sound. The actual tuning (I think) is set up more like a chromatic harmonica. I bet your boyfriend wants a diatonic harmonica. That’s the most common type used for country/blues/rock/folk music. youtube is a great place to start learning the harmonica. Many free instructional videos are available from people like Adam Gussow, Ronnie Shellist, Dave Barrett, Jon Gindick, and even me (12gagedan). Good luck.
