Harmonica Scale

On average, how much do you think a standard 12 hole chromatic scale harmonica cost? Also, would you recommend I get one as a beginner who has past musical experience. After looking around, I learned — A good 12 hole chromatic could set you back starting from US$ 140 and can go upto and beyond US$ 400+, depending on the manufacturer and duties in your country. Hohner, I feel, manufactures the best harmonicas of the lot. Lee’s are equally good and so are Suzuki and Herring. But I speak from experience of over 40 years that Hohner are really the Best. But, but, but. . . I would like to offer that you should firstly go in for a diatonic, learn to play it well and then graduate to the Chromatic. You, of course, have the added advantage of knowing music, thereby enabling you to catch on to the notes faster, than an absolute starter. Though you have not mentioned which instrument you play, I assume that you play the guitar and/or keyboard (these are the most widely seen and also the most addictive). Even if you are proficient at playing any other instrument, the fact remains that you do recognize the Seven Golden Notes. No music in the whole universe, whether English, German, Russian, French, Hindi, Italian or any other language, for that matter, is outside these Seven notes. And this is precisely why, music is a universal language and brings all humans closer to each other on one universal platform. You, therefore, certainly have an advantage. So my recommendation is the Diatonic Hohner, to start your love affair with the Harmonica .. Most the very best.
