I recently got my first harp and found out how to bend pretty early on. After trying it quite a lot on the first hole, I went to play the second hole and it sounded off. Off, as in extremely weak on the draw and kind of weak on the blow. Is it possible to bend too hard and screw up the reed a hole over? Or is it just a faulty instrument. From what I can tell… 2draw is an issue on all harmonicas – it’s just the nature of the instrument. It is possible to damage a reed by bending it too much (called “playing out” the harmonica) but it’s not likely you did that in the first few days. is an article about the 2draw problem. There are tons of them online with similar observations. The real issue though is that it’s the nature of the instrument and you’ll overcome it with time. is another.
Is it?
